Treinta y Tres is a Uruguayan city located in the department of the same name, in the eastern region of the country.
It was founded in 1853 and is known as the "Cradle of the Oriental Patriot", in honor of Juan Antonio Lavalleja, leader of the Great War, who ruled in the city in 1825.
Among its historical attractions are the San Miguel Fort, a military construction from the colonial era, and the Monument to the Battle of Las Cañas, a tribute to Lavalleja's victory over the Brazilian forces in 1839.
Treinta y Tres is a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the Quebrada de los Cuervos National Park, a protected natural area that has impressive landscapes of mountains and canyons. The city is also renowned for its production of high-quality wines and olive oils.
