Santa Lucía is a Uruguayan city located in the department of Canelones, about 30 km south of the capital Montevideo.
It is located in a transition zone between the coastal plain and the mountains of the interior of the country. It limits to the north with the Santa Lucía river and to the south with the Sierras de Mahoma.
The city is part of the Montevideo metropolitan area and is located in a strategic area for the land connection between the capital and the rest of the country.
