Piriápolis is a seaside resort located on the southern coast of Uruguay, in the department of Maldonado. It is located about 35 kilometers east of the city of Maldonado and about 100 kilometers east of the country's capital, Montevideo.
The city is surrounded by the Sierras de las Ánimas and has a beach that is more than two kilometers long. It is also located near other tourist attractions in the area, such as the Cerro Pan de Azúcar nature reserve and the Punta del Este spa.
Piriápolis is easily accessible from Montevideo via the Ruta Interbalnearia, which is a highway that connects the coastal cities of Uruguay. There are also public transport services available from the city of Maldonado.
